About this Program

The department offers an undergraduate physics program designed to prepare students for graduate work, for careers in industry or government, or for high school teaching. Degree requirements provide graduates with a basic knowledge of physics, problem solving skills and laboratory skills useful both in graduate work and in industry and business. The courses taken by physics majors and minors cover a variety of topics in physics and require significant preparation in mathematics and physics. The department offers a BS degree in Physics, a minor in Physics, and a Physics Science Teaching BS degree.
