Welding, brazing, cutting, and fabrication operations require skilled workers who are well-trained in the use of oxyacetylene, arc, wirefeed, heliarc, flux core, submerged arc welding process, layout, turret punch, CNC/NC plasma cutting, press break and robotics. Skilled welding fabricators are thoroughly familiar with breakdown and setup procedures, test standards, and all types of metals.
The Robotics Welding Certificate provides students hands-on training by working with standard industry equipment. Automated welding processes are becoming more widely used in the manufacturing industry, and workers are becoming responsible for programming the machines. Due to the changing nature of technology, students comfortable with using the most up-to-date, automated welding machinery may have better employment prospects.
Students must complete the Welding diploma or AAS degree before enrolling in the certificate; or instructor approval.
