About this Program

SMSU&�s BS in Ag Solutions is a new and exciting baccalaureate program that integrates classroom experiences, industry expertise and community leadership. Students in this major will benefit from a balance of both academic and applied educational opportunities.
This multidisciplinary program is designed to produce thoughtful and pragmatic problem-solving graduates who understand both the modern technologies of food production and the importance of environmental awareness.

The course-work builds foundations in natural science, communications and agribusiness skills. Students will undertake research projects and applied internships to prepare them for private and public sector careers in agricultural technology, production and management.

How are these outcomes achieved? The BS in Ag Solutions curriculum includes a sound basis in liberal arts, technical expertise and industry connections; it is a broad-based and organized program geared towards success in a 21st-century global environment and economy.

SMSU&�s BS in Ag Solutions students will learn how our food and agricultural systems can be sustainably managed to feed the world now and in the future.
