About this Program

SMSU&�s BAS in Agriculture is a four-year degree program specifically designed to serve the needs of transfer students who have finished two-year degrees in agriculturally-related fields (such as agriculture, agricultural business or agronomy). Completion of an AAS Degree or an AS Degree is required for entry into SMSU&�s BAS in Agriculture Degree Program.

The BAS in Agriculture is a multi-disciplinary major. Course-work builds foundations in natural science, communications and agribusiness skills. BAS in Agriculture students undertake research projects and applied internships to prepare them for private and public sector careers in agricultural technology, production and management.

The BAS in Agriculture produces graduates who are thoughtful and pragmatic problem-solvers. The curriculum prepares students to address the real-world challenges of 21st-Century agricultural and food systems.
