About this Program

This program prepares individuals as technicians in the art and science of precision measurement. Students learn to test, calibrate and repair electrical, mechanical and electronic measuring and indicating instruments in conformance with standards established by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). To plan the sequence of procedures and other pertinent data; and to set up standardized laboratory equipment to test and measure the accuracy of instruments which are used to record voltage, current, heat, magnetic flex, resistance and other factors. This is a competency based, self-paced, hands-on, open entry program.
