The Radiologic Technologist program trains students to assist the physician in the diagnosis of illness, injury, or disease. As a member of the medical team, the Radiologic Technologist is involved in emergencies and surgeries beyond the traditional radiographic and flouroscopic procedures. Technologists may work in hospitals, clinics, physician, and chiropractic offices. In the LSC Radiologic Technology program, students will be scheduled for clinical internships each term including summer sessions. The internships take place at various health facilities in the Duluth/Superior (out of area internships in Brainerd, Hibbing, or Ashland Wisconsin are available under our Outreach project for distance learners). Students will provide direct patient care working under direct supervision of a registered radiographer. Background study required by Minnesota law.
