This program broadens critical knowledge and skills relating to human behavior and organization in groups, communities, and societies. The major serves as preparation for graduate study in sociology or supports career development in such possible concentration areas as family, social deviance, criminology, social research, health and medicine, or social stratification. The secondary school teaching major in social studies may also include a concentration in sociology.
