This degree prepares students for employment as medical administrative secretaries. This balanced curriculum trains the medical administrative secretary to perform many of the same functions as the medical secretary, but office supervisory activities such as coordinating and scheduling activities, managing release of information, managing document storage and retrieval systems, and purchasing supplies become major responsibilities. Some possible career sites are: private clinics, group practices, hospitals, nursing homes, therapy centers, research institutions, public health institutions, and insurance companies.
