About this Program

The Welding Process Technology diploma was designed in cooperation with local manufacturing companies. The program prepares students for a career in welding or creates a pathway into an AAS in Electronics Technology or Robotics Technology with an articulated Bachelor�s degree at Bemidji State University. The program integrates theory, safety practices, and application of technical training. Coursework provides the student with information and skill development in a variety of welding processes. Through coursework, the student will develop fundamental knowledge of metals, welding processes, safety and related equipment applications. The student will also learn the following welding processes: stick (SMAW) and gas metal arc welding (GMAW), gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), and will join various types of metal while perfecting the students hand skills.
