The A.S. Degree in Computer Science is comprised of many general education courses and several computer science-focused courses. According to the Minnesota Transfer Curriculum, the general education components of the Computer Science program will transfer. The computer science-focused courses do not fall under the Minnesota Transfer Curriculum; however, the likelihood of transferability is strong. Pine Technical College has created several articulation agreements with other four-year colleges in the Computer Science program. An articulation agreement is a guarantee between a two-year and four-year college that complete transfer of the two-year degree into a four-year program will occur.
A general program that focuses on computers, computing problems and solutions, and the design of computer systems and user interfaces from a scientific perspective. Includes instruction in the principles of computational science, and computing theory; computer hardware design; computer development and programming; and applications to a variety of end-use situations.
