The Computer Information Systems program includes 30 technical credits in the field of computer science and exposes the student to hardware, database, and spreadsheet applications, and Windows. The 30 technical credits may vary slightly dependent upon requirements of the receiving transfer institution. The program also includes 30 general education credits from within the Minnesota Transfer Curriculum (MnTC). The general education courses must complete the ten goal areas of the MnTC and are universally transferable to all institutions in the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system.
The Computer Information Systems Associate in Science (AS) degree is intended for students who want to transfer to complete a bachelor's degree. This degree is 60 credits in length. High school courses in math and science are beneficial but not required.
