CNC Precision Manufacturing Technician
Computerized Numerical Control Technician students spend the first year learning basic shop safety and machining fundamentals as well as honing their math skills and precision measuring techniques. Blue print reading is also stressed in a student&�s first year. In the second year students study and practice manual and computer assisted programming with emphasis placed on computer aided manufacturing (CAM) software. They also learn the basics of computer aided drafting (CAD). An emphasis is placed on learning advanced tooling and programming practices used in the industry as well as putting those practices into use on the shop floor setting up and running the CNC equipment from the programs they have created.
