SOCW 435 - Social Work Practice with Diverse Populations - 3 credits
This course is designed to introduce social work students to the field of social work and diverse populationis. This course focuses on social work practice with individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities with an emphasis on transcultural practice. Variables of race, ethnicity, gender, class, and sexual orientation are all considered as they relate to generalist social work practictioners. This course will examine individual and instututional racism, sexism, classism, and homophobia. Prerequisite: SOCW 340. Grade only.
